The Veterans Choice Act (VCA) created in 2014, provides funding for veterans to receive acupuncture treatment outside of the VA (Veterans Administration). The Veterans Choice Program offers an opportunity for veterans to benefit from acupuncture without out of pocket cost.

For a veteran to receive treatment, first contact their VA doctor and ask for an authorization to see Matthew Vaccaro at Misty Mountain Acupuncture (a Choice Provider). Once we receive the authorization, the veteran can be scheduled and begin treatment.

The number of treatments a veteran receives depends on the condition
being treated.

Acupuncture can treat a wide range of illnesses.

Veterans primarily seek treatment for pain management, opioid addiction, PTSD, insomnia, anxiety and depression.

It can also treat respiratory, cardiac and digestive disorders among many other things. Acupuncture is based on a comprehensive system of medicine.
